Flower Mound Mayor Jody Smith announced today that she has received endorsements from former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Congressman Michael C. Burgess in her bid for re-election.

Smith said the endorsement from Huckabee came out of the blue. "I'm a proven strong conservative and am proud to have been single out," she said.

Huckabee mentioned the 'pinching' incident involving Smith and Mayor Pro Tem Jean Levenick on his radio show a couple of weeks ago.

In the press release, he is quoted as saying that the "joke I made on my daily radio show is being used to tear down a good person" and "is being blown way out of proportion for political purposes."
